Wise Decisio is a joint venture between H&P, Wise Responder, and Sophia Oxford that aims to support companies in transforming social data into decisions and decisions into impact.

Methodology
The basis of our work is a methodology developed by the University of Oxford.
We are the sole provider of the Multidimensional Poverty Index for Businesses (bMPI), built on a globally recognized methodology developed by the Oxford Poverty and Human Development Initiative (OPHI).
It is based on the method created by economists Sabina Alkire and James Foster, adopted by the UNDP, the World Bank, and more than 30 countries as an official government metric.
What the bMPI measures
The incidence and intensity of deprivation at the household level—covering education, health, and living conditions.
Deprivation factors that explain multidimensional poverty in the target population: employees, families, suppliers, and communities.
Evaluates changes over time, allowing companies to monitor the results of corporate programs and policies.
In practice
- Baseline measurement - We map the level of multidimensional poverty and key deprivations in the target population.
- Targeted action - We design and implement interventions aimed at mitigating the identified deprivations.

Measure before and after to quantify the reduction in bMPI and improvements by dimension.
POTUM
Compares a program's trajectory with regional historical trends, supporting benchmarking and prioritization.
RISE
Applies quasi-experimental methods (including difference-in-differences) to estimate causality and strengthen validation.
